Scripture: Genesis 28:15

Crossing over. Jars of Dirt did it. So did Sixpence None the Richer, Colonnade, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and one of my personal favorites… Switchfoot.

Crossover is a music industry term. It refers to acts that "cross over" from 1 music category to another. When Jars of Clay, for example, scored a major hit with their song "Flood," they crossed over from the contemporary Christian music charts to the pop music charts. Sixpence did the aforementioned matter a couple of years later with their song, "Osculation Me" and at present Switchfoot's "Mean to Live" is a big crossover hit.

When a contemporary Christian music deed crosses over, the popular charts are like "uncharted" territory. The experience presents all sorts of challenges, non the least of which is contending for the faith within a more hostile environs.

The people of God take been "crossing over" into unfamiliar territory for many millennia.

When the nation of State of israel was preparing to cross over the Hashemite kingdom of jordan River into the Promised Land, the territory was unfamiliar. So God directed the Levites to carry the Ark of the Covenant offset – to stand for God's presence with His people - and the Israelites were to follow them.

The same advice works for you. If you are crossing over into unfamiliar territory--from loftier school to college, for example, or to a new job or a new abode--remember that God is with yous.

"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you lot back to this country. I will not leave you lot until I have done what I accept promised yous" (Genesis 28:15).

Scripture: Matthew 28:xx

I am a parent. And you can tell. If you were to come to my firm you would see things like chalk drawings in the driveway, automobile seats in our car, trains, cars, and babe dolls all over the firm. (pics: car seats, chalk driveway, toys).

However, being a parent doesn't mean I always feel like a parent. Sometimes if y'all were to meet me out and near, you wouldn't be able see I was a parent. There are besides times I may not human activity like a parent. Not feeling like a parent, not looking like a parent to others doesn't change the facts! I am a parent and always will exist from this betoken on! Regardless of how I feel or look I am a parent.

"From a altitude it looks similar a normal painting, but when you come closer… WOAH!" says LifeBuzz.com.

The artwork is known every bit a reverspective, an optical illusion on a three-dimensional surface where the parts of the picture which seem uttermost away are actually physically the nearest. Patrick Hughes was the original creator of this type of art.

We all go through periods when God seems afar. But just like a reverspective work of art, the times when He seems the furthest away are the times He is actually drawing the closest.

Don't let the spiritual illusion of reverspective to blind you to God'south presence and care for you. Look closer! He's right there! "Draw near to God, and he volition describe near to you" (James 4:viii NASB).

"My tears have been my nutrient day and night, while people say to me all day long, 'Where is your God?'" (Psalm 42:3). "God is our refuge and strength, an e'er-present aid in problem" (Psalm 46:1). "The LORD himself goes before you lot and volition be with yous; he will never leave you nor forsake y'all. Practise non be afraid; practise not be discouraged" (Deuteronomy 31:8). "Have I not allowable y'all? Exist strong and courageous. Exercise non be afraid; do non be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with y'all wherever yous go" (Joshua 1:9).
